About

We are a laid-back, friendly group of ladies with a common love for reading (physical, ebook, or audiobook) and discussing books. Our discussions are lively but lighthearted. Our book choices come from active members who have read and recommended a book. The one who recommends the book typically leads the discussion. Most of our members hear about us through their word of mouth or Facebook. All are welcome!

We meet the last Friday of each month (dates vary depending on holidays) at 6:00 p.m. at Pizzarella.

The Ladies of Carrollton, TX (LoC TX) Book Club was founded in January 2019 by Amanda Brown, Colette Harmon, and Terry Haire. Details were discussed over pizza at Pizzarella! We agreed that our purpose would be to get to know others in our community and read books by different authors or genres than we would typically choose. By the end of 2019 we had 16 members, including charter members Karen Coronado, Andrea Macaluso, Mari Maldonado, Linda Puddicombe, Debbie Anderson, Kay Sharpley, and Sandra Sawyer, and were averaging 12 attendees at our monthly meetings. We met via Zoom in 2020 and continued to grow with an average increase of 10 members a year. As of January 2026 we have 49 active members and just set a record of 26 attendees at our last two meetings.
